Jonny’s original band was formed during his time at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, and have garnered a fantastic reputation with the music industry
Exploring Birdsong, described by PROG Magazine as ‘detailed, diverse and devilishly catchy’, are a piano led prog-pop trio. The band, made up of Lynsey Ward (vocals/piano), Matt Harrison (drums/percussion), and Jonny (bass/keyboards), first launched in 2017 with their debut single, The Baptism, and support slots across the UK. With their debut EP, The Thing With Feathers (Long Branch Records, 2019), the guitarless trio caught the attention of key players in the UK press such as Kerrang! and Classic Rock, and have been nominated for two PROG awards. Lynsey was also placed number 3 in the Prog readers poll for best female vocalist, and with the release of their acclaimed second EP, Dancing in the Face of Danger, followed by several singles, the band are cementing their place within the music industry.
